Песня, посвященная Дню Д - высадке союзников в Нормандии, 6 июня 1944 года, пожалуй самому известному в западной масс-культуре и "затасканному" событию ВМВ. Я не пытаюсь преуменьшить его значения, просто уже создано такое количество книг, фильмов, документалок, видеоигр и прочих популяризаторских материалов, что порой возникает лишь мысль "Опять Нормандия!... Ну сколько можно уже ее мусолить?!"
Возможно, меня глючит, но мне кажется, что в этой песне речь идет о канадцах, который высаживались на плацдарме "Джуно". Исходя из выделенных строчек - по-моему, это упоминание о Дьеппском рейде - 1942.
